5 Ways to Improve Self Confidence

Life is about truly finding yourself, stepping out of your comfort zone, and balancing. We all come across a period in our lives where uncertainty, instability, and fear crosses our mind. Learning about ourselves can be one of the most daunting things. We change so much within our lifespan, what once mattered, doesn’t seem to matter anymore. As life takes its courses we are faced with challenges that weighs us down, and we start to lose confidence within. Our lack of confidence starts to depreciate and has a heavy influence on the way we carry ourselves in the workforce, at home, and with our family and peers. If you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect anyone else to? Self confidence is a powerful characteristic to cultivate, and it is something that everyone needs. Here are 5 tips to improve self-confidence:

1: Positive Vibes Only

Step away from negativity. This is a time to evaluate your inner circle, friends and family included. Anything that is toxic, and not bringing positive energy towards your life needs to be reevaluated.

2: Stop focusing on your problems in life, instead focus on solutions.

When you spend all of your time focusing on problems, you tend to have a negative connotation. You’re always on edge, examining others, and not focused on the task at hand. Focus on the positive things in your life.

3: Believe in yourself.

Take charge of your life. Believe in your worth, your talent and your abilities. Confidence comes from within, not from others around you.

4: Realize that feelings are not facts

You are so much stronger than what you feel.  Feelings are temporary. It is not the events outside of us that cause our feelings; it is the meaning we give it. Just because you feel a certain way, doesn’t mean it is true. It is important to separate facts from feelings.

5: Stop comparing your life to others.

You are the driver of your own life. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and comparing your life to others. There is always someone who has more or is better than you at something. Instead of comparing, look at how far you’ve come and focus on your goals. Compare yourself to yourself.

Doing these simple things have done wonders for me. A positive mind and positive thinking is vital for success.
