Where has summer gone? Seriously? Traveling during the summer is great and all, but to be honest, I’ve been slacking a lot with my diet and workouts. As much as I try to stay on top of my diet, sometimes it just doesn’t happen. It’s been a daily struggle, but I’m trying to get back on track. I’ve been avoiding 6 am wake up calls to the gym, indulging in a few more desserts than necessary, and enjoying endless summer nights.
As summer comes to an end, I’ve decided that it was time to get my act together. I’ve started to get back to my daily routine which consists of the gym at least four days a week, healthier diet, and guzzling water as much as I can. No one said it would be easy, but it’s a start right?
My diet will consist of more fruits and vegetables, lean meat, and low carbs. One cheat meal a week is necessary though.. A GIRL HAS TO LIVE A LITTLE!
Lately, I’ve been into juicing. I’ve stumbled upon a local juice bar called The Weekly Juicery, located in Louisville, Cincinnati and Lexington. This place is fantastic! They have grab and go individual juices as well as smoothies, and of course my favorite — ACAI bowls!
Basically, it is a really think smoothie that’s topped with oatmeal, fruit, or peanut butter and then you wolf it down with a spoon. After eating a bowl not only will you feel happily full and have satisfied a sweet craving, you’ll also done something that was good for you. A win win situation!
The bowls can be made at home (which can be expensive) or found at your local juice or smoothie spot. I haven’t jumped on the juicing bandwagon yet, but I plan stopping by The Weekly Juicery soon to pick up a cleanse.
