If you’re like me, you have no motivation to climb out of bed in the morning. Your holiday bills are high, temperatures are low, and the days are way too short. Overcoming winter blues can be rough at times. Here are some proven ways to lift your spirits!

Make your environment brighter
You’re body is craving more daylight. Go outside for a few. Did you know that sunlight improves your mood? Because of the cold weather, a lot of people spend less time outdoors. Lack of sunlight can cause you to become depressed. Try to spend more time outdoors, or by natural light. 
Exercise:  Summer bodies are made in the winter! Exercise isn’t only for staying healthy and maintaining your weight. It’s a great stress reliever, increases your energy level, and helps your metabolism to stay elevated.

Plan a vacation
Longing for summer days at the beach? Plan a weekend trip, visit a new city, and experience a new environment. Trust me, getting away for a little will increase your overall happiness.

Act on your resolutions
Write down three things that you want to accomplish today. Start everyday by figuring out what to focus on for the day. Pay attention to how long you think things will take, and improve your estimates as time goes on. Feel good about your results!
